Student: Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society
Ajay holds a BEng (Hons) in Computing as well as an MSc in Information Technology and has experience working in the development/non-profit sector in India. He is currently enrolled on the MSc in Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society (PSTS). “I wanted an educational programme which would help me reflect upon the practical knowledge I have gained from my work and to combine that with a better understanding of human-technology interactions.”
“I thought a deeper understanding of how science and technology affect human beings and society would enable a technologist like myself to devise better solutions and to design better technology.
This programme is a perfect match; it was the only one I could find which combined philosophy, science, technology and policymaking. UT's focus on High Tech, Human Touch, which aligns precisely with my areas of interest, motivated me to apply to the University of Twente.
I come from a totally different educational system, so it’s all a new learning experience for me. Here you're introduced to a different way of learning about and understanding the different perspectives which people bring to the discussion from their own academic and cultural backgrounds. You come to understand the different interpretations of science and technology held by people from diverse backgrounds."
