On the 10th of May, the UT Robotics event takes place. People can expect an interactive programme full of interesting talks, a lab tour and a networking part. The day is all about (re)connecting with our UT colleagues and business partners!
Lab tour
During the lab tour, visitors are invited to discover the various labs that the University of Twente has to offer. In the labs, researchers use robotic setups to demonstrate the latest technologies they are currently working on.
In total, five different labs are visited: Robotics and Mechatronics Lab (RAM), Wearable Robotics Lab, Human Media Interaction (HMI), Precision Engineering Lab (PE) and Surgical Robotics Lab (SRL).
Keynote speaker
The keynote during the Robotics Event will be presented by Prof. Dr. Ing. Tamim Asfour. Asfour is a full professor at the Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. During his keynote, he will tell more about his research and development of humanoid robot technologies and systems that interact with humans to perform versatile tasks in the real world.
Networking
A big part of the event is dedicated to interacting with other robotics-minded parties. People will learn more from other businesses about their experiences in collaborating with the UT, can connect with students and organisations at the informal Coffee and Connect session, and there is plenty of time to meet fellow front-runners and discuss the latest challenges and possibilities in the field of robotics during the network sessions and drinks.
