Enschede, a vibrant student city

Almost 30,000 students, are enrolled either at Saxion Hogeschool Enschede (Saxion University of Professional Education, Enschede), the Academy of Music, the Academy of Art, or the University of Twente. That is 30% of the total population! That makes the city alive. And international as well. Thanks to the international profile of the University of Twente and being near to the German border, there are many international students.

Studying in the Netherlands is a great way to develop an open-minded, international outlook. Dutch education is highly interactive, focusing on teamwork, independence and a proactive approach. And being a small country with global ambitions, the Netherlands has always attracted people from many different cultures and countries. This makes it a colourful, multicultural society with plenty of room for living life your way.

The city of Enschede offers bustling weekly markets, great cafés and vibrant shopping streets. It also boasts well-manicured parks and historical buildings, many of which hide a museum or theatre. But the city owes its real fl air to the students living here. Every day, you’ll see students biking to their classes, reading on the banks of Rutbeek Lake or just generally enjoying city life.

Registration is not open, yet. Let us know you're interested in either the Bachelor's Open Days or the Master's Open Day in November and we'll send you a reminder when you can register.
