Two new sections HBE because of split and mergerThe High-Tech Business and Entrepreneurship (HBE) department, part of the BMS faculty, is changing the way it is organised. The sections Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems (IEBIS) and Financial Engineering (FE) will be transformed into two new sections. With the organizational change, the faculty board wants to further strengthen the good work and strong foundation of HBE. The change will not affect the number of employees: everyone will remain employed and keep their current position. The new sections start on September 1, 2025. Literary criticism, climate models, and ecological restoration would be severely limited; just like ethical reflection on artificial intelligence, justice, trauma, parenting, faith, and hope. All these domains depend on the freedom to think independently, to research, and to critically question. Academic freedom has created the space in which great thinkers, stubborn questioners, and dedicated researchers have been able to push the boundaries of knowledge. The progress we now consider self-evident - medical, technological, social, and scientific - was made possible because scientists had the freedom to ask questions and open up new worlds.Read more
