Tête-à-tête meeting ‘English or Dutch, that’s de vraag’?

The Faculty Club Foundation is organizing a tête-à-tête meeting on Wednesday, 28 March, from 17:00 to 18:00 pm. The theme of the discussion platform is ‘English or Dutch, that’s de vraag’?

Location: Blomzaal at the Faculty Club.

Tête-à-tête “English or Dutch: That’s the vraag?”

By the end of this year, the UT aims to fully embrace the English language as its main language. This way the UT hopes to attract more international students. But is that a realistic scenario? Does this do justice to our students and employees who are mostly Dutch native speakers? Or are we on the frontier of change in the Dutch debate on internationalisation and do we offer students and employees a unique chance to develop as global citizens of the future?

Discussants

The forum discussants are Emile Dopheide (ITC) and Sevim Aktas (AT and University Innovation Fellow). They will discuss the UT’s language policy from the (international) student and educational perspective. Alfred Stein (ITC) will moderate the discussion.
