My name is Ioana Fierăscu and I am a second year master student following the Biomedical Engineering program having my minor in Bionanotechnology. This master program represented in my vision the following step of the faculty I just graduated.

After four years spent following “Medical Engineering” from the University Politehnica of Bucharest I thought that I am ready for a new challenge. I found in Enschede, in University of Twente a new educational system with a new teaching method to which I had to adapt. The focus is more on self-study, on the hours you spend studying by yourself, but the projects are more practical and realistic.

The weather was another aspect which I had to adapt, but I did this easily because I am born in October and I love low temperatures.

The internship I am following in present helped me realize which my future job options in this field are. Although I am not yet decided if I want to follow a PhD program or to find a job, I am pretty sure that this is the kind of experience which I could recommend for anyone.

If you have any questions or if you want to know more about my experience, you can contact me on my personal Facebook account anytime.
