ECIU is a network of European enterprising universities that stimulate the exchange of knowledge and experience among staff members.
Through the exchange programme ECIU Staff Mobility Programme, you can exchange knowledge and experience with staff from other universities in order to gain new ideas. You can receive employees at the University of Twente or even go to visit another university. This could be, for example, to see how they shape communication among the different faculties, how the facilities management or ICT is set up and what you could learn in the area of HR.
After your exchange, you share your knowledge and experience with other employees for whom it is relevant. Therefore, at the end of the exchange period, you draw up a report of your experience. This report is provided to both universities and distributed by them.
Five non-academic (staff) employees may participate in the exchange programme every year. One absolute requirement is that you have both an oral and written command of English. The duration of the exchange can vary, depending on your personal wishes and the possibilities of the university that you will be visiting. You could consider visiting:
During this exchange period, you will receive your normal salary. To participate in this programme, you can apply for educational leave. Per request, there is a maximum of € 1,500 promotion budget available for the compensation of travel and accommodation expenses. The programme also involves costs for the department.
The first step is to talk to your manager about whether or not you may take part in the programme and agree upon how long you can be gone, which university you would be visiting and for what purpose.
You then draft a CV with an overview of your current job and job description. In addition, you fill out the registration form, in English or in the language of the country you wish to visit.
