The following codes of conduct apply to UT staff:
This code of conduct includes rules that members of staff need to follow when using ICT facilities and the internet, as well as rules about the way in which this use is monitored. As a separate Code of Conduct ICT and Use of the Internet has been drawn up for students, this code does not apply to them.
The aim of this code of conduct is to guarantee a positive and stimulating working climate at the UT. Such a climate requires collegiality, respect and paying attention to others. Unacceptable behaviour will be taken very seriously. The code of conduct describes where to go to if you are the victim of unacceptable behaviour.
ICT officials often have far-reaching powers within information processing systems. Because of the tools at their disposal, they can easily collect sensitive information. This code of conduct stipulates the rules to be observed by ICT officials when performing their duties.
This code of conduct applies to all Facility Department staff members concerned with supplier contacts and/or contracts. The code of conduct states the 'ethical' rules they need to observe when performing their duties, in particular when concluding or preparing to conclude transactions with third parties. The rules relate to subjects such as inside information, receiving gifts/bonuses, services, entertainment, credits and loans, but there are also general codes of conduct regarding integrity and objectivity.
At the request of the VSNU (Association of Universities of the Netherlands), a code of conduct for scientific practice has been drawn up. It elaborates the scientific principles of scrupulousness, reliability, verifiability, impartiality and independence. Academics have to keep to these principles in their individual work, in their work with other people and in their work with society.
