University of Twente - Scholarship Ceremony

On Tuesday 15 October, a festive Scholarship Ceremony was held for international students who have received a scholarship powered by the University of Twente.

Student from across the globe received a warm welcome during the Scholarship Ceremony at the Grolsch Veste. The evening was kicked off by Prof. Dr. Jennifer Herek, dean of the faculty Science and Technology, stating her own connection to this evening having been a scholarship recipient herself, and explaining the value of such a unique opportunity. Her opening was followed with welcoming words by Dr. Mirjam Bult-Spiering, Vice-President of the Executive Board. Camila Nunes Vasconcelos, University of Twente scholar alumna, engaged her peers with an enthusiastic presentation about her experiences and shared valuable tips on the best way to find work in the Netherlands after graduating from the University.

During the Scholarship Ceremony all UT scholarship recipients were invited on stage and were presented with an official scholarship certificate by the deans and representatives of the Faculty of Engineering Technology, the Faculty of Behavioural Management and Social Sciences,  the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Science and Technology and certificates for the Bachelor’s programme ATLAS of the University College Twente.

The University of Twente is very proud to welcome these talented students and wishes them a successful study time in Twente, Enschede and on UT’s unique campus. UT also expresses the wish for a fruitful collaboration now and in the future!

The University of Twente offers a variety of scholarship programmes through its Profiling fund. Part of this fund are: The University of Twente Scholarship programme, the Orange Tulip Scholarship programme, the Holland Scholarship programme, the Kipaji Scholarship programme, the UT - Brazil Scholarship programme, and the Professor de Winter Scholarship programme.

The aim of (co-)funding students by means of a scholarship programme is to help bring outstanding international talent to the region and to the Netherlands. The University of Twente’s ambition is to attract 640 outstanding international master’s students a year by 2020.
