The Dutch Research Council NWO supports academic journals that wish to transition from a subscription model to an open access (OA) model in which authors do not have to pay publication fees. They will soon be able to apply for funding from a new programme: the Diamond Open Access fund. Funding is for 2-year projects and aimed at existing journals that want to transition to Diamond OA. A total of €500.000,- is available in this round.
Q&A Session on January 21st
NWO (Open Science NL) is organising an online Q&A session for the NWO call for ‘Diamond Open Access’ proposals. This event will offer participants an opportunity to get information about the Call for proposals and to learn from good practices.

Diamond Open Access at the UT
Articles in Diamond OA journals are made available to everyone free of charge, without subscription fees for readers or publication fees for authors. In this way, scientific publications become widely accessible to all, without financial barriers.
UT authors can publish OA immediately with a licence for re-use and at no cost in over 13.000 high-quality journals in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
The UT Journal Browser presents 46.000 scholarly journals. It lets you search for journals in your field, and select journals in which submitting UT authors can publish OA at no cost.
