Twente alumni drinks: Sydney

The students of RoboTeam Twente are 'down-under' this July in Sydney to compete in RoboCup 2019, and as part of their visit will also host a casual meet-up with our local alumni! This will be a chance to hear how the Twente robots fared in their football matches as well as learn more from the ten students about their experiences over the past year preparing for the competition.

Join this gathering to mix with both our current students as well as fellow UT’ers in Sydney. The first round of pizzas will be covered by our Alumni Office 😊

Date/Time:

Monday July 22, 6:30PM- 8:30PM

Location:

Vapiano King Street, Sydney

In order to provide us with an accurate headcount please register here for the event.

About the RoboCup competition:

RoboCup holds up the ultimate goal: By the middle of the 21st century, a team of fully autonomous humanoid robot soccer players shall win a soccer game, complying with the official rules of FIFA, against the winner of the most recent World Cup. Within the soccer category, there are 5 different leagues to compete in: the Small Size, Middle Size, Humanoid, Standard Platform and Simulation league. Each league has a different focus on innovation.

RoboTeam Twente participates in the Small Size league, which focusses on the problem of intelligent multi-robot/agent cooperation and control in a highly dynamic environment with a hybrid centralized/distributed system. For the Small Size league they have had to build a team of 8 robots (with a height of 150 mm and a diameter of 180 mm) that can communicate with each other and can play a soccer match by themselves. There is no remote controlling involved.
