Get surprised by the activities and interactive discussions that we have developed. We believe that this program will inspire and impact the technical medical society. There are inspiring presentations and lectures that give you new insights into the technical medical world of today and the future. What challenges are awaiting us? And how can we respond to these? During the event, where researchers, entrepreneurs, students, clinicians and other stakeholders in healthcare come together, we can take huge steps in these processes. 09.30 - 10.50: Plenary program part I

Keynote & Interactive discussion VWS (Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport)

Before the interactive session with statements will start, Drs. Bas van den Dungen (director-general Curative Care at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport) will present the vision and policy on Medical technology. After that, it is up to the audience to participate actively in the discussion. More information about the keynote.

11.25 - 12.35: Plenary program part II

Keynote Dr. Peter N. Burns, Professor of Medical Biophysics and Radiology & Senior Scientist, Sunnybrook Research Institute

All the way from Toronto we have invited the professor of Medical Biophysics and Radiology: Peter N. Burns. He will talk to you about "Myth and Reality of Translation: A Bubble’s story" in his 30-minute presentation. More information about the keynote.

16.00 - 17.00: Plenary program part III

Interactive discussion: The role of citizens in innovation in health and wellbeing 

We will end the program with a session focusing on citizen science. We asked various stakeholders in the Life Sciences and Health domain to share their views how citizens should be involved in technological medical innovations.. Should citizens have an active and prominent role in the development of these innovations? Or not, or is there a middle ground possible? In this interactive session we invite the audience to engage in the debate on this current issue.

parallel sessions (14.00 - 16.00)

For two hours you can participate in one of three interactive sessions (Personalized eHealth Technology, Health Tech Implementation, Healthcare Robotics), preferably indicate your preference when registering. During each session, the program manager will introduce the topic, there will be presentations by TechMed researchers and you can provide a pitch yourself related to the topic.

    Use advances in technology to create innovative personalised eHealth services that contribute to a sustainable, efficient and effective healthcare, especially for citizens with chronic conditions. More information about the research program.
