Robert Wendrich new programme director Industrial Design Engineering

As of September 1st 2018, dr. ing. Robert Wendrich will become the new programme director for Industrial Design Engineering. Robert Wendrich will be the successor of Thonie van den Boomgaard, who will retire in 2019.

Robert Wendrich has been Assistant Professor in the department Design, Production and Management since 2003, and obtained his PhD-degree from the University of Twente with a thesis on ‘Hybrid Design Tools for Design and Engineering Processes’. Robert has been involved in education and research in the department and has also played an important role in setting up the Virtual Reality Lab of the UT. In the past, he has been Lecturer in Design Studies at the Royal Academy of Arts, and worked as a (senior) Industrial Designer at different companies, both in Canada and in The Netherlands.

Robert Wendrich is a passionate teacher with a strong vision on academic education and the field of Industrial Design Engineering. His broad international experience in the professional field and in the scientific world will be of great value to the programmes of Industrial Design Engineering. Robert Wendrich will be appointed for about 0,5 fte as programme director Industrial Design Engineering.
