Borrow books and request articles

Books purchased as from 2012 are available in open stacks in the University Library. Older books are placed in closed depot. Requests can be made using FindUT or via the loan desk.

Requested books can be picked up at University library Vrijhof or University library ITC during opening hours of the chosen library. Books send to a Servicedesk (staff only) can be picked up the next working day after 12.00 A.M. In all cases you must have received a notification e-mail from the library.

Your UT-staff or –student card functions is also your as library card. Third party users (Alumni, Saxion students, other library users) need to have a valid University of Twente Library Card. Click here for the requirements.

The standard loan period is 1 month.

Book renewal

Click https://ut.on.worldcat.org/myaccount to renew your loaned book manually. The item will automatically be renewed for 5x, provided there are no reservations.

Document delivery and Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Books and articles from other (university) libraries can be ordered online.

  • Most databases offer an OCLC linkresolver button which offers options to get to the full text.worldcat logo
  • Another option is to let the University Library take care of your request. On the homepage you choose "Request from other library" and fill in the form. Check the tariffs.
