FFNT Round table discussion "Has Covid-19 widened the gender gap? Short & long-term impact on women in academia"

When: Thursday, February 11, 2021
Time: 12.45 - 14.15 hrs

Dear Colleague,

On the “International day of girls and women in science”, FFNT is organizing a round table around the impact of Covid-19 on the gender gap. The event will be organized online with four invited speakers from UT, who can bring their experience to the table:

  • Prof. dr. ir. Hans Hilgenkamp (Full professor, TNW)
  • Dr. ir. Saskia Lindhoud (Assistant professor, TNW)
  • Dr. Laura Cordova (Assistant professor, ET)
  • Ms. Rosa Aguilar (PhD student, ITC)

We would like to invite our members to discuss about the main challenges faced during the lockdown, share the experiences, evaluate the potential impact on their careers on the short and (especially) long term, but also reflect on opportunities. Questions that will be discussed are:

  • What was the impact of the Covid-19 restrictions on women at UT?
  • Do you foresee a long-term impact on the academic career of women?
  • How can we minimize the impact of this situation and improve our policies to contrast the long-term drawbacks?
  • What can UT do to support this?
  • What are the lessons learnt? Can we use this experience to shape new actions towards a better and more inclusive future?

We would like you to be part of the round table discussion!

You can sign in here.

Kind regards,

FFNT Board
