International bachelor's students of all disciplines and universities: we invite you to go on a cheerful city trip, while working towards a thriving circular society. Right here in green and innovative Twente, the eastern part of the Netherlands. All you need to bring is YOU, and a touch of curiosity*. No fluff, just down to earth action.

Futures Unlocked*

Overconsumption happens on a global scale: plastic waste, fast fashion, our addiction to digital technologies... you might have some examples, too. Choosing one solution could lead to other consequences: for ourselves and for our planet. That's why we need a collaborative approach 
to explore new paths.

Join CurioCities: Futures Unlocked*:

• A city trip through Enschede, packed with activities that you carry out together with students from all over the world.
• Learn, create and collaborate to shape desirables futures, using the Responsible Futuring approach.
• Local key actors in society guide you through the process and share their expertise and passion when it comes to the societal challenge.
• Take home a suitcase filled with new skills that you can use in your studies and future career!

WORK ON A GLOBAL CHALLENGE

No time to sit down: we explore how innovations can make us rethink about what our cities could look like in the future. On various locations, you will train your 'futures' muscle and apply tools to explore, discuss and reflect on different scenarios. Take home a suitcase filled with new skills to use in your studies and future career! (various sizes, fits all)

VISIT THE CITY'S HOT SPOTS

We take you with us to various locations in Enschede: the capital of Twente (it's what we like to say here). Look around you: its textile history, 'noaberschap' culture, art and architecture, sporty side, innovation in business and on campus (and much more): use the city as an inspiration to tackle a global challenge.

MEET AND EXCHANGE IDEAS WITH THE LOCALS

Regional students, academics, local companies, civil society and government expose you to their work, passion and points of view when it comes to a sustainable and circular society. Get inspired, be critical and dare to ask questions, to understand each other's perspectives!

RELAX, PLAY GAMES AND ENJOY THE FOOD

Learn from your fellow changemakers, make new friends and stay connected, so this world becomes a bit smaller. We have some special activities in store for you to socialise and have fun! Addionally, we will fulfill your culinary needs and offer moments to recharge.

Registration & fee

You are admissible when you are:

• a bachelor's/undergraduate student at a university outside the Netherlands.
• expected to have a good command of the English language. You don't have to take an English proficiency test to join CurioCities.
