Name: Dina
Country of origin: GERMANY
Programme: International Business Administration (IBA)

"Studying at the UT and moving to the Netherlands tremendously helped me not only develop my academic skills, but also development of my personal self and social relationships."

My name is Dina, I am 22 years old and from a small town in Germany. I am following the UT’s Bachelor’s programme in International Business Administration and currently in my second year. What I really like about the programme is the combination of theory and applying the materials to projects in each module. Also, the third year gives the opportunity to go abroad for a semester, which I am really looking forward to!

WHY UNIVERSITY OF TWENTE?

After being dissatisfied with my studies in Germany, I was looking for a new programme and new university that would excite me about studying again. I was unsure about what to do until my boyfriend told me about the International Business Administration programme at the UT. While I had personally never visited the university myself, my boyfriend who had been studying Mechanical Engineering there spoke very highly of it. After taking a look at the programme and visiting the campus, it was an easy decision to enroll. Since semesters are divided into two modules, the learning material is a lot more varied and provides a range of different insights into the business world. This makes studying not only more exciting, but also makes it easier to find out what career path you might want to pursue! Between different lectures and tutorials, the UT offers a lot of opportunities to grab lunch or a coffee with friends or simply taking a walk through its beautiful green areas to refresh your mind. Next to that, you can also visit the gym or go to the supermarket if you need anything! It´s the perfect well-rounded package that makes being a student so enjoyable.

LIVING IN THE NETHERLANDS

Living in the Netherlands has been (for the very most part) a great experience. On- and off campus, people are incredibly friendly and open! I want to thank everyone who has made me feel welcome and at home in another country.

Not only is every weekday a new adventure, but also the weekends have been filled with trips to Utrecht, Amsterdam, The Hague or Rotterdam. The public transportation system is very well organized and usually really reliable, which makes traveling so easy and enjoyable.

The international atmosphere at the university gifted me beautiful friendships that enrichen my life and perspective on it in every aspect. Together we can go to cafes to study, suffer through rainy bike rides or go to fitness courses offered on campus. Studying at the UT and moving to the Netherlands tremendously helped me not only develop my academic skills, but also development of my personal self and social relationships.
