What’s next after you’ve completed your Master of Science degree? Are you interested in a career in research? The Twente Graduate School (TGS) plays a vital role in our research. coordinates high-quality educational programmes based on topics closely related to the work of the university’s research institutes, taught and supervised by expert researchers and designers. TGS offers PhD and PDEng programmes for graduate students who are keen to pursue a career as a scientific researcher or technological designer.

Next Generation Energy and Resources

We offer a versatile platform to educate scientists and engineers for next generation Energy and Resources and to contribute significantly to future developments in this field.

Applied Physics

Apply yourself to one of the oldest fields of science: physics. Gain fundamental insights into your own research field while honing your research skills.

Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering encompasses the fields of chemistry, materials science and process engineering. Chemical engineers are also well versed in areas such as fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.

Environmental and Energy Management

The one-year, English-taught Environmental & Energy Management Master’s will equip you to lead, manage and govern socio-technological change processes related to energy, water and the environment.

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineers focus on the design, analyses and maintenance of machinery, structures and products. The Master’s programme in Mechanical Engineering zooms in on one of these disciplines.

Sustainable Energy Technology

The Master’s programme in Sustainable Energy Technology (SET) enables you to become an engineer with in-depth knowledge on renewable energy technologies.

MESA+ School for Nanotechnology

MESA+ boasts a state-of-the-art NanoLab with a floor area of 1250 square metres. The fact that its users are offered a wide variety of technologies and equipment to develop an almost unlimited number of applications makes this NanoLab quite unique. MESA+ actively seeks collaboration with industry and encourages entrepreneurship among its employees. Though collaboration and a focus on interdisciplinary research, the excellent infrastructure and entrepreneurship, MESA+ is one of the world’s top institutes in the field of nano and microtechnology.

We need people who are aware of the broadness of the water scope and who can switch between the traditional approaches and combine them.

Civil Engineering and Management

If you are eager to focus on both the technical and non-technical aspects of civil engineering projects and systems, then the Master’s in Civil Engineering and Management is the programme for you.

Environmental and Energy Management

The one-year, English-taught Environmental & Energy Management Master’s will equip you to lead, manage and govern socio-technological change processes related to energy, water and the environment.

Spatial Engineering

The Master’s programme Spatial Engineering prepares you to address major multi-level spatial problems with a combination of technical and socio-economic knowledge.

Social Sciences, Innovation & Governance

Issues of coordination, steering and operating institutions and networks in the public and private sectors are key focuses of research, utilizing a multi-level, multi-actor systems perspective, with reference to the social and behavioural sciences. IGS works to combine scientific excellence with relevance for our stakeholders in the public and private sector.
