Applied Physics

Overview of specializations

The Master's programme in Applied Physics has three specializations:

  • Fluid Physics, which is all about using the laws of nature to describe phenomena in liquids and gases, such as a falling drop or the emergence of a wave;
  • Materials Physics, where the aim is to understand and manipulate the physical properties of materials to discover new features and ultimately to develop new devices; and
  • Optics and Biophysics, which centres on research into the properties of light and laser technologies and life processes.
