After a period of almost twenty-five years, Geert Dewulf is leaving the University of Twente. He is currently the Chief Development Officer at the Strategic Business Development (SBD) department. From 1 January, he will become the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) at Queen's University Belfast. In this capacity, he will also serve on the University Management Board of the British university.
Geert Dewulf joined the University of Twente in 2000 as a professor of planning and development. In 2013, he became dean of the Faculty of Engineering Technology (ET), to take up the position of Chief Development Officer in 2019.
Geert on his departure: “‘After so many exciting and enjoyable years, I am leaving the University of Twente. I had the opportunity to hold various positions within this beautiful university and I am very grateful to the University and my colleagues for those wonderful years and the opportunities offered. UT has always felt like a warm nest to me. The UT is now experiencing some financial perils, but thanks to the resilience and solution-oriented attitude of the staff, the UT will certainly be fine. I am greatly looking forward to my new challenge but I will miss you all. Thanks for everything.”
Vinod Subramaniam, president of UT’s Executive Board: “We thank Geert for all his contributions during his twenty-five years of service to the UT in his roles as professor, dean and as CDO. We wish him all the very best in this new adventure in Belfast.”
