Data Science Week 2026

Talks, workshops, datathon and networking events

Join the Data Science Week for an immersive, hands-on exploration of real-world data challenges. Centered on the theme of complex systems, this year’s data science challenge focuses on citation prediction—finding patterns in scientific impact and investigating what drives visibility and influence in research.

Through a combination of expert-led lectures and interactive workshops, you’ll build core data science skills, from data wrangling and modeling to effectively communicating insights. Each session is followed by practical application, where you’ll work in teams to apply it to the datathon problem.

Collaboration is key: you’ll learn from peers across disciplines, exchange ideas, and refine your approach—while also competing with other teams to develop the most effective solution.

Guest speakers will provide deeper perspectives on complex systems, offering valuable context to solve the datathon challenge.

The Data Science Week also creates space for meaningful connections. During the poster session and networking drinks on Thursday, June 18, researchers and PhD students can showcase their work and engage in informal discussions with peers. This relaxed setting makes it easy to discover what others are working on, exchange ideas, and spark new collaborations.
