Formative assessment is an important topic in education. On 13 November, the conference “Formative assessment: Also in your classes and at your school” is taking place in Nieuwegein.
The department of teacher development, ELAN (Kim Schildkamp, Christel Wolterinck, Cindy Poortman, Jitske de Vries en Adrie Visscher) is involved in organizing this conference.
During this conference participants experience, learn and share how formative assesments can be used in the classroom, in different subjects and how it can be rolled out at school level. New insights play a central role and you will work with instruments, tools and results from the projects. Researchers from ELAN, together with teachers and school leaders, provide workshops on how to design formative assesments - in which their own practical experiences serve as examples and inspiration. Harry FletcherWood, the expert in the field of giving feedback will be present at the conference as well!
The conference is organised by Utrecht University, SLO, Maastricht University, Twente University and Wageningen University. Secondary school teachers, teacher educators and team/school leaders are most welcome. This also applies, of course, to others who are interested in formative testing. Formative testing, for example, is also crucial in higher education. For more information and registration, please visit the SLO website.
