We would like to invite you to participate in the 4TU.NIRICT 2017 Symposium on Empathic Technologies, to be held on May 19th in the DesignLab, University of Twente.
Participation is free, but registration is required before May 8th, 2017. The keynote speakers are Dr. Marc Hassenzahl (University of Siegen, DE), and Dr. Hatice Gunes (University of Cambridge, UK). Other speakers include Prof.dr. Dirk Heylen (University of Twente, NL), and Dr.-Ing. Anna Pohlmeyer (Delft University of Technology, NL) - more to be confirmed.
The symposium is organized by researchers from the 4TU.NIRICT Empathic Lighting consortium: Dr. Judith Redi (TU Delft), Dr. Alina Huldtgren (Hochschule Düsseldorf), and Dr. Khiet Truong (UT). Our goal is to collect under the umbrella of Empathic Computing researchers interested in generating new knowledge in the fields of affective computing, computer vision, user modeling, sensors, wearables, internet of things, human-computer/robot/media interaction and ambient intelligence, towards the creation of empathic, caring systems.
To gain better insights in the success – and the potential pitfalls – of collaborative research projects in the area of empathic computing, we organise a symposium on Empathic Technologies at the DesignLab at the University of Twente, on May 19, 2017.
During the symposium researchers from different backgrounds will present their perspectives and work together towards a roadmap for empathic technologies design. To allow for a lively and inspiring interaction between participants, we have a mix of keynotes, short stimulus presentations, interactive sessions and a panel discussion.
All interested researchers are invited to participate to the discussion and the roadmap creation. Registration is free and possible until May 8th!
