Who is Jacco?: Jacco jumped from the frying pan into the fire as he boarded an airplane to go work for a start-up in the heart of Silicon Valley in 1998. In the years following he implemented modern sales ideas as the head of sales across a variety of start-ups. His success stems from identifying target markets and closing 1st reference-able, revenue producing customers big and small.  Think of Disney, Salesforce, AT&T, BT, Dish and ABN/AMRO – but also Nearpod, Totango, Yesware, and GuideSpark. Jacco earned his street-cred as the head of sales at SkyStream when they sold to TandbergTV for $82M, he launched Technicolor and subsequently, Kontiki into the SaaS business. With the latter he secured BT as its global reseller resulting in $10M funding. Jacco was asked to help Qumu with an exit strategy which, among others through a partnership with AT&T, resulted in the sale to Rimage for $52M.

 

In 2012 Jacco van der Kooij started WinningByDesign, a Sales Design firm for B2B companies that uses the insights gained from selling ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS). His firm has been involved in the design of, building of, and scaling of nearly a hundred SaaS companies.
