Many professionals in the Geo-health domain have originally been trained either in Geographic Information Systems or health. This course builds on the expertise of participants that are already working in the Geo-health domain and would like to more effectively use geo-information to deal with a variety of public health issues. This is achieved by means of a two-staged course design.
The first stage consists of a MOOC in which scientific work on a variety of Geo-health topics is explained in an understandable way, bridging the gap between scientists and Geo-health professionals and providing a platform to exchange experiences with many other health professionals.
The second stage consists of a face to face course in which participants are exposed to contemporary approaches of spatial data handling and use of geo-information tools in the public health domain.
