Matching is intended for you to test your final choice. Through matching, you and the programme will find out whether the study really suits you.
All universities must give you as a student the right to a matching procedure or study choice check, if you have applied no later than 1 May. Universities can also oblige you to participate in matching/study choice checks. If you do not participate in this, the university may decide not to admit you to a programme. What the matching procedure looks like varies per university and/or per programme.
For programmes with (decentralised) selection, there is no study choice activity, because selection and motivation is already a mandatory part of the selection procedure.
Matching helps you check your final study choice. However, matching is not a selection tool. You can receive three types of matching advice after completion of the matching procedure:
Regardless of what advice you receive: the result of matching is not binding. The outcome of matching is an advice. Regardless of this advice, it does not determine whether or not you can start your programme.
Some programmes have mandatory matching:
Programmes may apply different deadlines for the mandatory study choice check. View the programme websites for the specific dates.
All bachelor's programmes at the University of Twente that do not have a (decentralised) selection or draw do a matching procedure/study choice check through study choice activities. These are:
The Technical Medicine (Dutch) and Psychology (English track) programmes do not have a study choice check, but have a different procedure. Check the programme website or the admission page for more information.
Yes, that is possible. In Studielink you can apply for multiple programmes at the same time, which means that you can receive multiple invitations for (mandatory) participation in a study choice activity. We advise you to participate in study choice activities in order to ultimately be able to do a good study choice check yourself.
You will be enrolled if you meet the following conditions:
Arrange the above before September 1 to be able to participate in education.
Enrolment may be refused if all enrolment conditions have not been met before 1 September. All steps must be completed before 1 September to complete an application and therefore ultimately be enrolled.
