Experts at CELT
The CELT Educational consultants can support faculty and teaching staff in (re) designing your module, course, or the entire curriculum. They can also participate in specific educational projects (small or big) or take the lead as project leaders. They are skilled instructional and curriculum designers by profession, driven by creativity. Some have permanent residence within faculties. These educational faculty advisors have insight into the programmes, the organisational structure and the culture of your faculty, which are easily at hand, so they are very easily approachable. They will ask their CELT colleagues with specific expertise to join when needed.
E-learning specialists
The e-learning specialists design, develop and evaluate e-learning solutions. Their expertise is used to advise lecturers about the didactical and technical possibilities. They help staff through the process of thinking, development, and implementation of online solutions and collaborate with other UT educational and technical experts.
Teaching assistants
You may hire a Teaching Assistant (TA) for some education types. Please check the financial options with your manager first. The Student Job information page has more details about finding/hiring a TA.
Train your Teaching assistant(s)
There are two types of TAs:
- Teaching assistants (TA) provide guidance during tutorials, practicals, lab sessions, workshops, etc. They are content experts who provide instructions to the students. To train the TA, the faculties offer DISA Training (Didactical Instructions Student Assistants). During the TA training, the TA learns the basics of providing instructions, feedback, answering questions, etc. It is up to the course teacher to discuss specific course-related matters.
- Tutors provide guidance during project work and monitor the process. A tutor can be a content expert, but this isn't necessary. The faculties offer tutor training. During the tutor training, the tutors learn the basics of providing instructions and feedback, answering questions, and guiding/supervising a (project)group. It is up to the teacher of the course/project to discuss specific course/project-related matters.
