Dr. Saskia Kelders has recently been appointed Extraordinary Professor at the Optentia Research Focus Area of the North-West University in South-Africa.
During her visit, she presented her Prestige Lecture on engagement and adherence to eMental Health interventions. As an Extraordinary Professor, Saskia will collaborate on projects that use technology to improve wellbeing in South Africa. Saskia is assistant professor at the Centre for eHealth and Wellbeing Research at the University of Twente. Her research interests are positive psychology, persuasive technology and digital interventions. Her ongoing Veni-project focuses on using individual engagement to personalize eHealth interventions. The methods she uses include the analysis of log data, experimental studies and randomized controlled trials, among others. Examples of interventions: Prof Kelders works on are web-based gamified interventions and mobile apps to increase wellbeing.
