Following a European tender, all UT printers were replaced by new Xerox multifunctional printers (MFPs) in June 2012.
Practice has shown it occasionally takes an inordinately long amount of time before print jobs come out of the new machines. To overcome this problem, a small application will be installed on all Windows UT workstations: the Cirrato client.
This application will eliminate the delays you may have experienced. In addition, the software ensures that your print jobs are no longer visible to other users and that you will only see your own print jobs. The Cirrato client will be automatically installed on all Windows UT workstations the first time you start the computer and login after Friday July 6th 2012 12.00 hrs.
Solutions for other workstations (Linux, Apple, workstations outside the AD domain, etc.) will be deployed at a later stage. More information on this topic will follow.
What do I need to do (UT Windows workstations)?
As from Friday July 6th 2012, 12.00 hrs. on, after you start your Windows UT workstation and log on, the software will be automatically installed. To ensure automatic installation, this computer needs to be started from being switched off, waking it up from hibernate may not do the job.
A new application will then appear in the Start menu:
If you see this application, you will know for certain the Xerox multifunctional printers are available to your workstation. Do not remove this program.
Set the printer named ‘Follow-Me’ to be your standard printer, and remove the printer named ‘Follow-me on WIN300’ if you had previously installed it.
