The University of Twente, together with the unions in Local Consultation, has agreed on a new Continuous scheme in case of redundancy (CSR). The new plan will apply from 1 January 2025 to December 2027. The current CSR was due to end on 31 December 2024. The new scheme ensures continuity of support to employees.
Having a current Continuous scheme in case of redundancy is of great importance to the welfare and legal status of employees during change processes within the organisation. The CSR applies to reorganisations and organisational changes involving the loss of one or more jobs. The CSR mainly provides support and facilities to employees who may face redundancy. The aim is to minimise the adverse effects of organisational changes on employees, for example in terms of employment, legal status and employment terms.
Machteld Roos, vice president of UT’s Executive Board: “It is important that, in good consultation with the unions, we have agreed on a new CSR, especially in a period of organisational developments. The CSR provides important frameworks and facilities to ensure that employees are treated with care in case their positions come to an end.”
