We aim to attract, develop and empower talent by creating an inspiring, stimulating, and inclusive environment where everyone can discover and use their talent(s). The UT wants to facilitate employees' continuous development so that they can take ownership of their professional development and career.
As a member of UT staff, you face the challenge of optimally using your talents and continuously having to work on your development and career. As a manager, you face the challenge of getting the most out of yourself and the staff you are responsible for. As a researcher, you face the challenge of constantly trying to stand out of the crowd, and as a teacher, you face the challenge of providing high-quality education in keeping with modern-day standards. And all of this needs to happen in an international and dynamic environment.
Develop your team
Team development is not a one-off activity. It is a continuous process in which you continue to learn together, depending on the phase or context you are in as a team. Sometimes with a small intervention, such as introducing a day-start or taking a Good Habitz training course together. Or perhaps a retreat or development process led by a team coach. And do not forget to have quality time together, check the budget possibilities with your finance advisor or your own manager. Note: Every employee has the right of 3 development days every year (CAO).
Annual interview
Organizational development and the personal development from employees receive a lot of attention within the UT. We think it is important that you know how you can contribute to our joint objective, make agreements about it and that you receive recognition for the services provided. The UT expects that every manager conducts at least one annual interview with every employee. The invitation for the annual interview is sent by you - the manager.
Development assessment
If you would like to find out the challenges and lessons that lie in your employees current or possible future position, then the development assessment will be a useful tool. The assessment provides pointers towards the direction in which the employee could proceed and towards how they might work on their personal and professional development. The employee will receive a report with an assessment and advice.
Career development
Check within your own faculty/department the current policy and procedures for career development, e.g. career advice committee etc.
