Thursday February 2nd, the Twente University Centre for Cybersecurity Research (TUCCR) is organising a hackathon together with SURF. The aim of this hackathon is to gather new knowledge and insights on the international threat landscape, especially towards critical infrastructures in the Netherlands. The results will be handed over to the NCSC, winner of the 2022 SURF Security & Privacy Award.
Investigating security and resilience of critical infrastructures
During the hackathon, you will research the security and resilience of critical infrastructures and creatively visualise them. The University of Twente will make scientific data available from OpenINTEL - the largest DNS measurement in the world (https://openintel.nl). You can combine this data with data from other sources to gain more insights into vulnerabilities. A number of other (closed) datasets will be offered during the hackathon. Of course, nothing stops you from involving other, public data sources during the hackathon. Data coaches from the University of Twente will also be present on the day: researchers with extensive experience in analysing and processing large datasets.
For whom
Cybersecurity specialists, researchers, scientists and students are welcome. Some knowledge/experience of Python, Jupyter notebooks and (relational) data structures is desirable. Experience with SQL, Apache Spark and plot libraries.
Location
The hackathon will take place at the Centre for Security and Digitalisation (CVD) in Apeldoorn.
