AI-driven Insights from Real World Data Defining Behavioral Biomarkers and Phenotypes

AI-driven Insights from Real World Data
Defining Behavioral Biomarkers and Phenotypes

The symposium

The predictive capabilities of traditional, vital-based biomarkers on trial outcomes has been under investigation in clinical trials. However, Real World Data is much more than measured vitals: patient-reported outcomes and physical measurements from trial participants’ lifestyles can provide us with extended biomarkers. Can they be useful in predicting future patient reported outcomes or even trial outcomes? Can they be used to model patients or to cluster them into behavioural phenotypes? These are questions addressed under the framework of the workshop, where we will see how AI can support traditional industries, such as Life Sciences, as well as Health, Wellbeing and Ageing. We will also present commercial applications and R&D projects, discussing the challenges and opportunities through the introduction of AI.

ORGANIZATION

This event is an initiative of the company Innovation Sprint which is situated in Brussels and TechMed Centre's strategic programme Personalized eHealth Technology.

Innovation Sprint

We are an e-health startup with focus on digital transfomation of companies and orgnaizations seeking disruption. We combine medical, ICT and data analysis expertise to improve health and pharmaceutical products and services, and to develop personalised healthcare solutions.

PERSONALIZED EHEALTH TECHNOLOGY

It becomes more and more evident that the current approach to healthcare is not sustainable, especially when considering the increasing volume and demands of chronic diseases, requiring a rethinking of strategies towards innovative solutions. The use of Information and Communication Technologies in healthcare – eHealth – is a promising strategy to improve healthcare worldwide. Biological (e.g. genetic pre-disposition), behavioral (e.g. lifestyles) and environmental (e.g. physical and social context) factors influence the surge and progression of chronic diseases. eHealth also allows to target this challenge of diversity, for example, by providing personalized solutions adaptable to each user, and also to changes over time. Every individual, dealing with any specific condition presents a distinctly unique case, highlighting the need for Personalized eHealth Technology.
