- Apply for ISBN & DOIWhen publishing UT-related work, such as a dissertation, an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is required. In case it will be published both in print and digitally, two ISBNs are provided. These ISBNs will be sent by email within three working days and the concerning department will be charged 60 Euros per request. For a digital publication a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) will also be provided. A DOI guarantees permanent access to a publication. Both ISBNs as well as DOIs are related to the University of Twente as publisher. Please use the form below when applying for an ISBN and DOI. UT authors must make all their publications open access, preferably immediately with a licence for re-use. In all cases, UT-affiliated publications must be open at the latest six months after the first publication date. There are many ways to make your publications open access (OA) at no cost, both immediately and after six months. Below, you’ll read all about it. Why publish open access? Your closed publications can only be read by those who pay. Publishing behind a paywall means transferring copyrights to the publisher, so you are not allowed to share your closed publication as you please. Your open access publications can be read by anyone with an internet connection. Publishing OA means retaining copyrights so you are allowed to share your publication as you please. - Publication bachelor/master thesisStudents of the University of Twente can upload their bachelor's or master's thesis for graduation. Below you will find important information with regard to the publication of your bachelor/master thesis. Current student theses repository About The student thesis repository contains the full text theses of University of Twente graduates from various programmes, both bachelor and master. Quite a few graduate theses in this repository are publicly available. Copyright owner is the author or otherwise when indicated in the text of the thesis. Procedure Students can fill out a form and upload their document. After a check by the University Library staff, the data entered together with the document will be visible in the portal of the UT Student Theses repository of the University of Twente. The uploader can indicate whether the full-text of the thesis should be publicly available (standard) or restricted. Finding a suitable journal in your field A journal is suitable for your research when its aims, scope, and intended audience match the work that you want to publish about. When you’re looking for a suitable journal in your field, always select Search all fields in the UT Journal Browser: When you search in all fields, you will not only search for words in the journal’s title, but also in keywords that the journal uses to describe its aims and scope: Click on a journal’s title for the journal’s individual page. On that page, click on Journal Home Page on the top right to find the journal’s aims and scope, author guidelines, and possible charges (e.g., so-called Article Processing Charges (APCs) for OA publishing, or page-excess charges that are not part of a possible discount agreement for OA publishing).
