Feeling stressed or just need a break from your studies? The Chameleon Room, the ultimate student living room, was designed by students, for students, as a space to recharge, relax, and take care of your mental well-being. This room is not another study space, but a safe and inviting place for every student. Whether you want to unwind, chill with friends, or spend some time alone, this space is for you. Located in the University Library at the Vrijhof, the Chameleon Room (VR 275A) is open every day during Library opening hours.
- What can you do in the Chameleon Room?
Depending on your mood, you can chat with friends, play a board game, meditate, get creative with art and craft materials, do yoga, or read a book on well-being.
Well-being Activities
From 1 October, various well-being activities will also take place in the Chameleon Room:- International Student Hub: Every Monday from 15:30 to 17:00, a coach is available to help, answer your questions, talk with you, or share experiences as an international student.
- Drop-in Hours with Confidential Contact Persons (CCPs): These are fellow students trained to listen to you. Meet our CCPs, who are available twice a week.
- Drop-in Hours with a Psychologist once a month.
- Various workshops and activities
- International Student Hub
Are you curious about the experiences of your fellow international students? Do you feel lonely and are looking for a place where you can meet other international students? Are you looking for a place where you can share your views, get advice, play a game or just chill and talk with others? Or maybe you have questions about living in the Netherlands and finding your way in here?
The International Student Hub is a weekly informal meeting for all international students who are new to the Netherlands and are looking for a place to meet other international students. You don’t have to enrol to attend it, just drop by whenever you feel like it. There is also a possibility to talk to a coach.
Know that you are not alone!
The International Student Hub is every Monday from 15.30 – 17.00 in the Chameleon Room (VR 275A).
Feel welcome to drop by!
In case you have any questions or remarks about this event, please contact Magdalena Sztych-de Vries or Julia Lange.
- Drop-in Hour Confidential Contact Person (CCP)
How are you? Do you want to talk about something? Many students struggle with stress/anxiety/sadness or loneliness. Confidential Contact Persons (CCP’s) are students that are trained to listen and help you to find the right resources. From November 1, CCP’s will have a drop-in consultation hour in the Chameleon Room in the University Library. There we can talk about anything that is on your mind. You are most welcome to stop by; no appointment is needed. We are here for you if there is anything that you would like to discuss in private.
Dates:
Tuesdays: 16:00 - 17:00
Thursdays: 13:00 - 14:00
Location: Chameleon Room (Vrijhof VR275A)
Privacy: If the CCP is in a session, the living room door will be closed. Please wait outside until the session has ended. - Drop-In Hour Psychologist
Do you have questions about mental health or are you concerned about someone else? Are you unsure if you should see a (student)psychologist or your General Practioner with your psychological struggles? Or you want to know more about what student psychologists can do for you or you are looking for short advice on a difficult situation. Just drop by, no appointment needed! Our drop-in consultation is specifically for short, informal conversations – not treatment, but a listening ear and advice.

- March 18: 11:30 - 12:30
