Annual report 2021 published

The victory photo of Solar Team Twente, which won the Solar Challenge in Morocco last October, is prominently displayed on the cover of the University of Twente's annual report this year. The victory of the solar car of the Twente student team is one of the nice highlights of the university in the year 2021, a year that was largely marked by COVID-19. The annual report was published today.

"The entire university community has long looked forward to seeing and speaking to each other in person again during the pandemic. Around the opening of the academic year, in September 2021, it was noticeable how much everyone appreciated the renewed 'live' contact", the Executive Board looks back in the annual report. "Although we continued to work hard to realise our ambitions, we also had to recognise that our students and staff were under great pressure due to the limited contact offered by digital channels. The trick is to show precisely then that we are a community that does not exclude anyone: under all circumstances, we are committed to a diverse, inclusive and safe university community."

In the annual report, the University of Twente accounts for the policy it has pursued: What has come of the ambitions? How is the university developing on key issues? How have the resources been deployed? The retrospective is not just a look in the rear-view mirror, but also a reflection on the present and the future: what are the dilemmas we encounter in our daily work, and what are the positive developments on which we are continuing to shape the future of the UT?

The annual report is published annually in Dutch (this is a legal requirement) and can be read digitally below. The document also contains an English summary.
