Hans Oeloff new director of Human Resources at University of Twente

The Executive Board has appointed Hans Oeloff as the new director of Human Resources (HR) at the University of Twente. As of January, Hans already fullfilled the position in on an interim basis, following the departure of Joost Sluijs to UMC Utrecht. The official appointment date will take effect on  1 September 2020.

In October 2015, Hans Oeloff joined the University of Twente, as head of the Centre for Education Support (CES). Before, he served as director of the Service Centre Information at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Hans is a UT alumnus: he received his master’s degree in Applied Mathematics at the UT in 1988.

During Hans’ lead of the department, CES has strengthened its ties with the faculties and the other service departments over the last few years. Also, the collaboration between the various departments within CES became more close. Under his wings, the service department has professionalised. Hans is leaving behind a vital and financially-solid unit. For the coming period, the UT will look into a temporary solution, before a successor is appointed.

Mirjam Bult, vice president of the Executive Board of the UT: “We know Hans for his love for education and experience in educational processes and transitions. This is a valuable perspective which is complementary to expertise in the field of human resources. For instance, in recognising and rewarding as well as the development of the department as a strategic partner for HR. Hans has an engaging style: he is open, analytical and reflective, focused on development and has a heart for the UT and his colleagues. We wish him the best of luck in his new role.”

Hans Oeloff on his appointment: “I look back on a great period at CES, working together pleasantly with all the colleagues. It has brought some precious memories. After a period of working in a service department focusing on student needs, the employee perspective will be much more present in my new position. That is a challenging and new aspect for me.”
