Latest update on the coronavirus #2

Last week, we informed you about the impact of the situation concerning the coronavirus at the University of Twente through the employee portal and our website utwente.nl/corona. We would like to inform you about the latest developments.

Central point of information

The coronavirus and measures that have been taken are influencing our daily work. For instance, it affects travelling abroad, welcoming guests to our university or planning activities in the near future.

We have set up a Question and Answer website (utwente.nl/corona) that provides answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs). In case you still have UT-related questions after reading this website, you may contact the central point of information by sending an email to info@utwente.nl. For medical-related questions: contact your general practitioner (GP).

What does the University of Twente do?

As we have been doing over the last few weeks, we continue to follow the instructions and recommendations from the Dutch national government and RIVM on this matter. This means we will not introduce additional rules or advice concerning, for example, travelling. For instance, you can still go on business trips and study trips to areas that are not classified red or orange. We advise you to keep an eye on the situation and to book as late as possible to avoid unnecessary costs.

University of Twente underlines the importance of continuing our work in a responsible way. This means e.g. following the hygiene protocol very strictly.

Will the UT Open Days take place?

Given the current situation, the Open Days on 12, 13 and 14 March will be held. As the situation may change over time, please follow our updates to stay informed. If you have a fever (more than 38⁰ Celsius) and/or respiratory complaints (such as coughing or shortness of breath) and/or you have cold complaints (cough or lung complaints), and you have been in one of the risk areas for the past 14 days, we ask you to not attend as a precaution.

INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

The deadline for registration for candidates coming from non-EU/EEA countries is 1 May. This is a fixed date - a shift of deadline is not possible - as several procedures require a timely application. Please be aware that you may experience difficulties to enrol for a study programme at the University of Twente for the coming academic year, as a result of measures taken by other organisations. E.g. it might be difficult to obtain certain formal documents or take part in a language test. If you do have any further questions, get in touch with the Student Services desk via email.

Stay updated

We monitor the situation closely and take precautions when necessary. On utwente.nl/corona you will always find the current information.
