ISPOR 2018 Barcelona

From the 10th to the 14th of November a large delegation of the department of Health Technology and Services Research (HTSR) visited the conference of the Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) in Barcelona. The title of the conference was New Perspectives for Improving 21st Century Health Systems. With one short course, four podium presentations in forums, workshops and issue panels, and 7 research posters, this was a very successful meeting for HTSR. There was plenty of opportunity for networking on all levels, and we had some very productive meetings with special interest groups on Health Preference Research and Value of Information Analysis. Moreover, we are very happy of the representation of three HTSR PHD students in the student network of ISPOR.

Overview of Conference Contributions

Janine van Til

Janine van Til had a podium presentation in the workshop on the use of preference research in HTA agencies in Europe and a podium presentation in the forum session on the use of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) in health economics.

Erik Koffijberg

Erik Koffijberg taught a course in value of information analysis and participated in a forum discussion on the good practices in the use of value of information analysis for research decisions. Moreover, he participated in an issue panel on the value of diagnostic information.

Michelle Kip

Michelle Kip presented the results of a literature review into the measurement of health care resource use and costs in juvenile idiopathic arthritis, as part of the UCAN CAN-DU programme.

Deon Lingervelder

Deon Lingervelder presented a systematic review of the test evaluations and available evidence of point of care testing in primary care.

Mohsen Jafari Songhori

Mohsen Jafari Songhori presented a poster on an agent simulation approach to technology diffusion in health care.

Karin Groothuis

Karin Groothuis is the vice president of the special interest group on health preference methods, and as such she actively participated during the open and closed meeting of this SIG. Moreover, she presented a poster on patient preferences for oral anti-coagulant therapy.

Koen Degeling

Koen Degeling is Chair of the global ISPOR Student Network and contributed to multiple leadership meetings and presentations. Additionally, he presented two posters on metamodeling in health economics.
