Ir. Stephan Maathuis been appointed Managing Director in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, starting September 1, 2015. He is the successor of Jan Verberne who will retire by the end of September.
Maathuis has broad experience in university policy and with working as a faculty staff member. He studied Industrial Engineering and Management and worked for years as a university lecturer and researcher in the field of international business & management for TBK (now BMS). In 2009 he made a switch to the Strategy and Policy directorate, first as policy advisor for international affairs, later as strategic advisor and head of the Policy and Monitoring section.
Stephan Maathuis will start working for EEMCS as of September 1. He will replace Jan Verberne as of October 1. Next to managerial and organizational tasks, Maathuis will also be involved in policy and strategy formulation and implementation.
