UT signs Memorandum of Understanding with Massachusetts General Hospital

During the working visit in Boston, the University of Twente has agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding with the famed Massachusetts General Hospital. President of the Executive Board, mr. Victor van der Chijs and the just appointed Deputy Dean in Health and Biomedical Technology, prof. Maarten IJzerman, signed the memorandum on behalf of the university. The University of Twente is excited with the agreement on collaboration with the Mass General, as the hospital is called in the city, as it is one of world's best hospitals.

On behalf of the MGH, James A. Brink M.D., chief radiology and Rajiv Gupta PhD M.D., director of the Axis Center for radiology signed the agreement. The emphasis in the collaboration will be on the activities of the Axis Center, the institute for Advanced X-Ray Imaging Sciences of the MGH. Gupta will be a visiting professor at the TNW faculty of the University of Twente.

In the coming time, the UT and the Massachusetts General Hospital will further explore the way they will give shape to the collaboration. They will look for opportunities in joint research and knowledge exchange, as well as the exchange of students, PhD-candidates and staff. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the MGH fits with the strategy of the university in shaping the international collaboration with relevant partners.
