Water scarcity and drought are on the increase and expected to aggravate further due to climate change.
Action is therefore required. Especially in areas such as Twente where it is often not easily possible to reduce droughts by transferring water to local drought hot-spots. A more refined approach is needed and is developed. Especially with regard to this agenda a seminar on drought resilience strategies was held on 19/9. Also with regard to this agenda, scientific institutes and water managers from several European countries cooperate in the DROP project (Benefit of Governance in Drought Adaptation). During the seminar multiple projects were discussed that are co-initiated in the context of the DROP project. On account of the University of Twente, the Department of Governance and Technology for Sustainability (CSTM) participates in the DROP project.
