When should you request a hearing in case of a proposed negative study advice
Those students, who receive a proposed negative study advice, can request a hearing. During this hearing you have the opportunity to elucidate your situation to the Examination Board. This hearing is explicitly not intended to report new special circumstances which could have been reported to the BSA committee before 30 June. Also explaining your motivation for the study is not the goal of the hearing.
A hearing can be meaningful in case you want to:
- Adequately substantiate that it was not possible to report your circumstances to BSA committee before the deadline. Please realize that you have to submit supporting documents.
- Report circumstances which occurred after the deadline of the BSA committee. You will have to substantiate that not obtaining the BSA standard is a direct consequence of these circumstances.
- Provide an explanation about the circumstances which you have reported in relation with your study progress.
It is important to timely request for a hearing. In the proposed negative study advice, which you will receive through OSIRIS, the deadline for this request is indicated.
Please keep notice of this and also check the website of your educational programme!
