In the afternoon of Wednesday, 2 April, His Majesty the King will be opening The Gallery, a new centre for innovation, on the Kennispark Twente in Enschede. The Gallery is housed in what used to be the Chemical Engineering building at the University of Twente. For security reasons, the Waaier building will be closed during the day.
Access to the Waaier building, Hall B and Carré.
The main entrance to the Waaier building, Hall B and Carré will be closed between 06:00 and 16:00 on Wednesday, 2 April. However, it will be possible to access Carré via the Zilverling building or through the back entrance.
Alternatives for lunch
On 2 April, the canteen and the coffee corner in the Waaier building will be closed until 16:00. The canteens in the Horst and Spiegel buildings and the coffee corner in Ravelijn will be offering a larger selection on this day. You should, however, take into account that these locations may be busier than usual. The Mensa student restaurant in the Waaier building will reopen at 16:00 and will stay open until 19:00.
Parking
Take into account that car parks may be busier than usual on this day. Staff, students and visitors will be able to make use of the regular car parks on campus. Invitees will be using the new car park near to the Education and Research Plaza. The Facility Department will ensure that additional parking spaces are available to visitors on the events ground.
Want to come and watch?
His Majesty the King will arrive at the Education and Research Plaza at approximately 14:45. At 15:15 he will walk from the Waaier building to the Gallery, crossing the Education and Research Plaza. The official opening of The Gallery will then take place.
