On 24 April 2013 all UT students will have Google Apps for Education (Google Apps @ UT). Also the current student mail will switch to Google Apps for Education. This was decided by the Executive Board in early 2012. Read more on the decision of the Executive Board.
The advantages
Google Apps for Education offers the following advantages:
- Online collaboration (document storage, online word processor, presentation programme, spread sheet, instant messaging, video and web conferencing)
- Email and online agenda
- More storage space (25 GB for mail and 5 GB for documents)
- Reliability: Google offers an uptime of 99.9%;
- Less costs
