Monday March 18th, Peter Norvig Director of Research at Google Inc. will present the Web Data Science Award to UT students. The presentation starts at 3.45 p.m. in SmartXP lab Zilverling. Peter Novig will be present via a live video connection.
Before the presentation of the award takes place there will be an interview with Peter Norvig. Subjects like Web Data Science, Hadoop, Open Data, Open Education and Science Challenges will be brought up during the interview. You also have the opportunity to send in questions for the interview. Questions can be send to: challenges@inter-actief.net.
Many students of the Computer Science programme will know Peter Norvig as the author of the book "Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach" by Stuart Russell and Peter Norvig. This book has been used in the AI course until 2011.

Op maandag 18 maart reikt Peter Norvig – Director of Research at Google Inc. – de naar hem vernoemde Web Data Science Award uit aan UT studenten. De uitreiking vindt om 15.45 uur plaats in het SmartXP lab in Zilverling. Peter Norvig is via een live videoverbinding aanwezig en zal de aanwezigen toespreken over de Web Data Science Award.
Voorafgaand aan de uitreiking zal ook een vraaggesprek met Norvig plaatsvinden. Hierin komen onderwerpen aan de orde als Web Data Science, Hadoop en Open Data, maar ook onderwerpen als Science Challenges voor studenten en Open Education. Jouw vraag kan ook aan de orde komen in het vraaggesprek! Vragen kunnen gestuurd worden aan: challenges@inter-actief.net.
Veel Informatica studenten zullen Peter Norvig kennen als schrijver van het boek "Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach" van Stuart Russell en Peter Norvig dat tot 2011 is gebruikt in de cursus Artificial Intelligence.
