Werner Peters new managing director at faculty BMS

The Executive Board of the University of Twente has appointed Werner Peters (42) as the new managing director at the university's Faculty of BMS. With effect from 1 July next, he succeeds Nicole Letteboer, who held this position on an interim basis in recent months. Currently, Werner is managing operations at Attendiz, a foundation for special education with 1800 pupils at 17 locations.

For the past three years, Werner carried responsibility for his current employer's broad business management portfolio. He played an important role in professionalising the support organisation and worked closely with many stakeholders. Previously, Werner worked as director of operations at Carmel College Salland and held various management roles within the business community. Werner completed the Bachelor's in Commercial Economics at Saxion and the Master's in Business Administration at Radboud University. He lives in Hengelo, is married and has two children.

Tanya Bondarouk, dean of the faculty, is pleased with the appointment. "With Werner, we are bringing in an enthusiastic and knowledgeable colleague who has experience in many areas of work that fall under the responsibility of the managing director. Over the past period, we have taken steps as a faculty to professionalise the organisation further. With Werner, we are happy to enter the next phase."

Werner Peters on his appointment: "I am looking forward to finding my way in a very different environment, but in a familiar role. The academic world is relatively new to me, and the international dimension offers an experience that I look forward to experiencing with great energy. I can't wait to get to know the organisation and stakeholders inside and outside the faculty better, to shape the plans of the faculty and UT together."

With almost 600 staff and 3,700 students, the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences and Management (BMS) at the University of Twente is a medium-sized faculty within UT, with scientists and programmes at the intersection of social sciences and technology. A total of six undergraduate and 13 graduate programmes are taught within the faculty. The faculty houses UT's Professional Learning & Development (PLD) Centre, offering education for highly skilled professionals and executives within companies and governments. With the BMS Lab, the faculty also has a state-of-the-art research facility where the relationship between people and technology is researched in innovative ways.

The UT Executive Board wishes Werner every success in his new position.
