DSI Meet Up - Session 2 in the AI Literacy Series November edition

Mark 12 November in your calendar for this month's DSI Meet Up! The event will once again focus on AI Literacy at UT, a pressing and relevant topic across all five faculties and within supporting departments like CELT and LISA.

In this session, two scientists from the BMS Faculty will give a short introduction to their workshops and courses related to AI Literacy, followed by a presentation by a CELT delegation on the AI Literacy platform they are currently building (to be launched by the end of this agenda year).

I will talk about CELT’s AI in education project. It includes a ‘resource hub’ collecting essential information and resources supporting UT teachers in their professional development and educational practices related to AI in the areas of: (1) tools and privacy, (2) curriculum and course design, (3) assessment, (4) promoting students’ responsible use, and (5) using AI as a teaching assistant.

In this talk, I will share our experiences from a workshop designed for educators and curriculum developers. The workshop included lectures, practical sessions, and discussions aimed at improving AI literacy in the education system. We explored how AI can be used effectively to enhance the quality of educators' work, integrate AI into curriculum design, and develop better educational programs. I will also discuss how this format—combining lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice—can be adapted for other professionals, such as clinicians and medical doctors, to improve their understanding of AI.
