DesignLab Academy Announces Upcoming Masterclass on Responsible AI Futures

DesignLab Academy at the University of Twente is hosting a two-day masterclass focused on navigating responsible and equitable AI futures. The "Responsible Futuring masterclass: relational AI" will take place on November 21-22, 2024.

Through critical and experiential learning methods, participants will explore relational, justice-oriented, and more-than-human perspectives on AI development and deployment. The masterclass aims to acknowledge and challenge existing power dynamics to prioritize fairness and inclusion in AI.

DesignLab's established Responsible Futuring approach will be used to gain insights into diverse stakeholder viewpoints, understand positioning of perspectives, and frame potential future scenarios regarding AI's societal impacts. Creative collaboration techniques will promote dialog between participants from various backgrounds.

Design methodologies will make possible futures tangible to allow reflection. Futures research tools will support strategic decision making and responsible innovation. Upon completion, participants will be equipped to apply these skills and shape ethical AI development within their own organizations and communities.

The transdisciplinary learning experience is open to professionals, entrepreneurs, students, citizens, innovators, policymakers and more who want to actively co-shape AI futures.
