On March 29th, 2023, at University College Twente in the Drienerburght building (Room 102B) from 15:45-17:30 we will have an open lecture titled “The Good and the Bad? Wagner Group and the Global Private Security Industry”.
Jutta Joachim from Radboud University and Jovana Jezdimirovic Ranito from University College Twente will discuss the PMSC (Private Military and Security Company) industry as a common foreign policy instrument, with a specific focus on the Wagner Group as an outcast. They will talk about the existing regulatory framework that limits action against Wagner and the political reluctance of states to act against it. This lecture will provide valuable insights into the current state of the PMSC industry, and the challenges faced by regulatory bodies and policymakers.
